The Owner

La Mere Brewing's Owner/Head Brewer, Dathan La Mere, was raised in the Pacific Northwest.  He lived in Kelso/Longview where he graduated from Kelso Senior High School.  After high school, he joined the US Army.  He attended college at Lower Columbia College and graduated from Washington State University in 1999. He has a BA in Business from Washington State University and has worked with accounting software for nearly 20 years.  

 

In 2008 he fell in love with Belgian Beers. That winter his brother, Aaron, purchased him a Mr. Beer home-brew kit.  The first beer they brewed was a Belgian Wit.  A short time later he took a beginning brewing class and purchase a homebrewing kit from Bader.  After a short period, he enrolled in an advanced brewing class. Dathan has been brewing since 2008.  He continues to hone his unique style of craft beers.  He brews many different beer styles; IPAs, Pale Ales, Stouts, Saisons, farmhouse and sour ales.
